We have worked
closely with the manufacturers of electric motors and coil winders.
Coil winding required a constant check on wire tension in order
to obtain consistent coil forms. In
a winding system the wire tension is controlled by the complete system,
the winder, the tensioner and
the wire spool. When the
wire comes off the spool the rate changes as the spool empties and the
resistance to un-spooling also changes.
This means we have a winding system with one fixed device, the
winder itself, a variable device, the tensioner and a second variable
device the spool . You can see that as long as this second device varies you
cannot set a tension and leave it. We have over come the problem by powering the de-reeler in a very unique manner. For the first time, wire can now be controlled and tension remains constant through out the complete un-spooling of wire.
